[002] Voice - Welcome Back

[Daria looks older since she was last seen, maybe even 30. Her looks have stabilized to something a little less painfully plain, though still intellectual, and her clothes suit her frame. However, she looks every bit as unimpressed as her younger self would.

She remembers how this goes, and turns on the voice feed for her version of letting people know she's back and seeing who's still here that she remembers. Surprisingly, that will be quite a lot of people.]

I thought I stopped having these dreams way back before college.

Must be nerves.

[She is also under the impression that her time in Luceti ended some time ago, and that she has inexplicably been brought back.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, it turns out.]

Though I must admit that my comprehension on the English language is limited in the area of emotion...

How do you tell someone that you are attracted to them? [Drum roll please....]

I don't have a whole lot of experience in that, but I guess if you were going to say it, it'd be something like 'I like you' or asking them on a date somewhere.

[She's going to be over here hoping he means her, but pretty sure he doesn't. They've just met - what is she even thinking?]

May I ask what exactly constitutes as a 'date'?

[Spock's eyes twinkle as he regards Daria.

[As far as her experience suggests, that can be very vague at times. But there's one surefire she's learned:]

I think it's a date if both people say it is. [Because really, it could be anything from a study date to Disneyland.]

It'd probably start with you asking me for a date.

Then it is fortunate that I have asked you on one.

[Spock opened his palms and gestures to the area around them.]

You're not so bad yourself, but I'll deny it if I'm ever asked.

[At least, if she's ever asked by Quinn, who is likely to make a Very Big Deal out of it even now.]

You would deny us even with your friends?

I'm not denying you. I'm denying being a silly woman who let herself get caught up in the moment despite all her ranting about common sense.

Ah, but you see, I am a creature of logic. Logically we were meant for a relationship. [Not completely a lie... because they could be friends... so long as this event doesn't damage those chances completely.]

Therefore, common sense would dictate that if the equation fits the variables, it is logical.

I think you're stretching the logic there. [Vulcan, thou art becoming emotional.]

[You know... she's in a crazy situation with a chance she'll probably never have again. Why not, just this once?

Daria puts out her hand too.]

[Spock hums in satisfaction as feelings that are not her own drift to Daria...]

Whoa! [She pulls her hand away, sharply - she doesn't mean to, but it's unexpected and very strange even after her earlier time in Luceti.]

[Spock reached forward...]

Whoa there. Ok, you're kind of cute, but that was pretty freaky.

[Did she say cute? Well, she's not sure what else to call it. Attractive. And she is definitely looking a bit alarmed right now. If she were thinking clearly, she'd be long gone already.]

[spohkh]

[Spock tilted his head...] It is well that you find me physically attractive...

Though it is unfortunate that you find apart of who I am... 'freaky'...

[Spock's face became slightly sad....]

Look, I- [kind of like you?] don't know what it's like on your planet, but on mine, we don't have that kind of thing.

If it makes you feel better, though, 'freaky' can be applied to most of my friends, too.

[Spock didn't look convinced...

He looked down and started to toy with the empty plate in front of him.]
